People throughout Lincolnshire are being urged to continue showing their support for the NHS by keeping up some of the positive changes they have adopted since the coronavirus pandemic began.
Lincolnshire’s NHS organisations have come together to launch a brand new, county-wide campaign called ‘Let’s Do This Together’, in a bid to help our Lincolnshire NHS stay strong and sustainable, now and in the future.
The campaign has been developed based on local research which identified five positive behaviours which have been adopted by people during the pandemic, and which are making a significant and positive difference to Lincolnshire’s NHS:
1. Looking after yourself, eating healthy food and getting active - these three are great ways to maintain both your physical and mental health, and prevent long term diseases such as diabetes, heart failure, depression and anxiety. One You Lincolnshire has lots of great resources to get you started. If you need extra support, our team of social prescribers can help you to get back on your feet.
2. Visiting a pharmacist before a GP - your local pharmacist is highly skilled to treat minor illness and give expert advice on medication. Our GP practices may refer you directly for a consultation with your local pharmacist via the Community Pharmacy Consultation Service. We also have 31 Clinical Pharmacists working within our GP practices supporting GPs and other clinical staff to treat and manage patients with long term conditions.
3. Maintaining routine appointments - It is so important that you attend appointments for screening, immunisation, health checks, medication reviews, etc. in order to stay healthy. Remember, f you are unable to attend your appointment, just let us know so we can offer it to someone else.
4. Asking for a telephone or video appointment - All of our PCNs have embraced the use of digital technology and now offer telephone and video appointments, making easier and more convenient to access one of our medical staff.
5. Calling or visiting NHS111 online before attending an urgent treatment centre or A&E - NHS111 makes it easier and quicker for patients to get the right advice or treatment they need, be that for their physical or mental health. This also frees up our A&Es for peole who really need it. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To get help from NHS 111, you can:
- Go online to 111.nhs.uk (for assessment of people aged 5 and over only)
- Call 111 for free from a landline or mobile phone
These five actions have been called “The 5 Acts” and the NHS is appealing to all Lincolnshire residents to continue to support the NHS, as they have over the last few months, by adopting these behaviours.

“As everyone knows, the NHS continues to be under significant pressure and we are appealing to our neighbours and communities across the county to keep supporting us and each other, by making sure they keep adopting the five acts wherever possible, as so many people have done in the past few months."
